One Among Them
One Among Them
President Quinn’s Weekly Message
California Santa Rosa Mission
May 12th, 2025
It was good seeing all of you on our transfer Zoom call Saturday night. We will see if this becomes a fun tradition in CASRM. We welcome your feedback.
On Wednesday we will welcome five new missionaries to CASRM. I am confident you will each extend a loving and warm welcome to them.
With the arrival of new missionaries, we bid farewell to missionaries who have completed their time in CASRM. We are grateful to you for your dedicated and loving service. We are excited to see the blessings and opportunities the next chapters of your lives present. You return home with our love. We celebrate the joyous reunion you are soon to enjoy with your family and friends.
With the increase in baptisms we have witnessed across CASRM, I have been thinking about the blessing your missionary service is having in the lives of your many friends. I remember a scripture that teaches the impact the gospel can have in the life of an individual:
“But there was one among them whose name was Alma, he also being a descendant of Nephi. And he was a young man, and he believed the words which Abinadi had spoken, for he knew concerning the iniquity which Abinadi had testified against them; therefore he began to plead with the king that he would not be angry with Abinadi, but suffer that he might depart in peace.” (Mosiah 17:2)
Only one person in King Noah’s court believed the teachings and testimony of Abinadi – Alma. Alma would become a mighty prophet, converting many and establishing the Church of the Lord. He would also raise a son who would become a mighty prophet, responsible for the conversion of thousands and establishment of the Church in many cities. This scripture teaches us the difference the faith, obedience, and works one person can make for good.
I am confident your recent converts will be a source of strength to the Church and their families. It is not possible for us to see the future blessings that will flow to your recent converts through their baptism. We know there are mortal and eternal blessings available to them as they honor their baptismal covenants. These converts will forever remember you. They will remember the sacrifice you made bringing them the gospel of Jesus Christ. Like Alma, through their faithfulness to the Doctrine of Christ you bring them, they will be a great blessing to their posterity and the Church.
Sister Quinn and I love you. We are grateful for the high love and high expectations we witness in your missionary service across CASRM. We are gratified as we see your hard and faith filled work to find and help your friends embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We pray for your success as we move into this new transfer.
Love,
President Quinn
