Healing In His Wings

Healing In His Wings

President Quinn’s Weekly Message

California Santa Rosa Mission

April 6th, 2025

Mary Magdalene and a few other faithful women came early to the Savior’s tomb – bringing spices and ointments to anoint His body. They were greeted by an open tomb, the covering stone had been rolled away, and two angels who declared:

“Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. (Luke 24:6-7)

To the amazement of these good women, the tomb was empty. The body of Jesus Christ, laid there a few days earlier, was not present.

Later that morning, Mary returned to the empty tomb. She was greeted by the resurrected Savior who asked her:

“Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. (John 20:15-16)

Later that same day the Savior appeared to Peter; to two disciples on the road to Emmaus; and in the evening to 10 of the Apostles and others, appearing suddenly in their midst, saying:

“Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.” (Luke 24:39)

Beyond these witnesses in Jerusalem, we have the unmatched visit of the risen Jesus Christ to ancient inhabitants here in the Western Hemisphere. In the land Bountiful, shortly following His resurrection in Jerusalem, He descended from heaven and invited the assembled multitude of approximately 2,500 to witness His resurrection by coming forth one-by-one to touch the scars of His crucifixion. (see 3 Nephi 11)

These scriptural accounts bear witness that Jesus Christ, He who was crucified on the hill Golgotha, rose from the dead and lives today. I bear my humble witness that these accounts are true – that Jesus Christ lives today with a resurrected and glorified body. Like those who witnessed with their eyes the resurrected Jesus Christ, we too can feel hope and joy at the knowledge that Jesus Christ lives.

I write this message to you on Easter Sunday. My hope in sharing this message with you is that our collective and individual faith in Jesus Christ will be strengthened as we consider the Savior’s promise that He would overcome death. Indeed, He did! My hope is also that our faith in the Savior’s less miraculous promises will also increase. We know that He promises to cleanse us from all our sins. We know that He has “rise[n] from the dead, with healing in his wings” (Malachi 4:2). This promise should give us faith that He can heal us from all our infirmities, pains, and the injustices we suffer (see Alma 7:11-13). I hope we will always exercise faith that He can make us whole no matter what is broken in us.

Sister Quinn and I hope you have enjoyed this Easter and General Conference weekend. It was a sweet experience hearing so many of our leaders testify to the Savior’s resurrection in each session of conference. We add our testimony to those born this weekend – that Jesus Christ lives! We testify that He arose from the tomb on the third day with “healing in His wings.” We know that He stands with us in CASRM to accomplish our missionary purpose. He is our Savior and Redeemer.

Love,

President Quinn
