Mighty Prayer and Supplication
Mighty Prayer and Supplication
President Quinn’s Weekly Message
California Santa Rosa Mission
March 30th, 2025
This weekend, we will have the opportunity to be instructed in General Conference. This is a wonderful blessing we enjoy twice each year to receive inspired instruction. I am grateful General Conference falls on Easter this year. I look forward to being taught by the Lord’s chosen Apostles, His special witnesses, during this upcoming conference. I am confident we will receive inspired instruction.
Sheri Dew, a former counselor in the General Relief Society Presidency, once taught:
“As human beings engaged in the mortal experience, we all encounter things that scare us, worry us, confuse us, hurt us, discourage us, puzzle us, and potentially threaten our faith and our progression. These thoughts cause us to have questions.”
I am confident that many of you, like me, have questions and concerns. You may be worried about what you can do to help a family member or friend. It may be a gospel doctrinal question you struggle with. It may be finding purpose, fulfillment, and direction as a missionary. You may have concerns about the future path you are to take in life. Whatever you question, it is a good one.
Years ago, President Monson provided instruction that has helped me to exercise faith that my questions and concerns will be answered:
“…our Heavenly Father is aware of our needs and will help us as we call upon Him for assistance. I believe that no concern of ours is too small or insignificant. The Lord is in the details of our lives.” (GC October 2012, Consider the Blessings)
I am grateful for this testimony from President Monson that the Lord is aware of our individual needs – no matter how small or insignificant they may seem. What a blessing to have a Heavenly Father who watches over and blesses us with such individual exactness, wisdom, and love! I know the Lord loves us perfectly and desires the best for us.
In preparation for conference this weekend, I invite you to spend time pondering questions or concerns you might have. Take time to write these things down and ponder possible answers to your questions or concerns. Then spend time in prayer over the next week asking your Heavenly Father for the answers and direction you seek. Listen carefully to the talks given in conference this weekend. I am confident you will receive information and guidance through words and the Spirit in messages given to us this weekend by the Lord’s chosen servants.
I have faith in His promise from the Lord:
“Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers.” (D&C 112:10)
Sister Quinn and I hope you have a good week preparing for General Conference and Easter. This is a wonderful time of year. I am grateful for this holiday season to focus on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I will spend time each day this week reflecting on the events that transpired the week of the first Easter. I invite you to do the same.
Thank you for your goodness. Sister Quinn and I love you! Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
Love,
President Quinn
