President Quinn’s Weekly Message

I express my gratitude to the Elders for joining me in the conference yesterday. It was an experience I will never forget. As we met together, I felt the Spirit testifying of your goodness and faithfulness. Thank you.
It is difficult to believe Sister Quinn and my time in CASRM is coming to an end. We have loved our mission – and most of all serving with our missionaries. Three years is a significant investment of time. We look forward to having the flexibility to spend more time with our children and grandchildren. We have worked hard as mission leaders – trying to give the Lord and you, our missionaries, our best and consecrated efforts. We feel at peace knowing it is time to begin a new chapter of our life together. We look forward to this new chapter with excitement.
Over the last three years, I have written a CASRM message each Sunday. This makes my 156th letter. I have enjoyed the opportunity to weekly communicate gospel truths to inspire you in your service. I am grateful for the guidance of the Spirit in preparing these messages. I will miss putting my impressions in words to you each week.
In my last letter to you, I wish to share my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ with you. My testimony is my most precious possession. It embodies my temple sealing to Sister Quinn and our children and grandchildren. I cannot separate my family from the gospel.
I know that we have a loving Father in Heaven who lives. I testify He knows and loves us perfectly. He has answered my prayers with such exactness that I can never doubt His love and divine wisdom for me. I know He loves each of you. I testify that as you seek His blessings in your life, He will exercise His wisdom in answering your prayers at the right time and in the right way. Your Father in Heaven desires that you engage Him in the details of your life.
I know that Jesus Christ lives. He lived and gave His life in perfect obedience to the will of our Father in Heaven. Though His obedience, He completed a perfect atonement for each of us. His Atonement is both infinite and intimate. Because of His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross, He knows how to succor and heal us individually. I testify His Atonement can redeem us from our sins and enable us to become like Him.
I testify Jesus Christ stands at the head of His Church – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He directs His Church through a living prophet, Dallin Oaks. A living prophet is a sign of the Lord’s love for us. I know that following the instruction of our living prophet will protect us and bring us joy.
I testify Jesus Christ will direct each of you in your missionary labors as you seek His guidance. This divine guidance will come through the Holy Ghost. I pray one of the lessons you will take from your mission will be the abilities to seek and follow the Holy Ghost.
I testify to the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon – and of the daily inspiration and strength that can be realized in studying and pondering its teachings. Please make reading the Book of Mormon part of your daily worship. I promise you will not regret it.
I testify Joseph Smith was the one chosen by God to initiate the restoration of the gospel in these latter-days. I love Him and honor him for the work he did and the sacrifices he made so we might enjoy the blessings of the gospel.
I pray that each of you – our missionaries, will be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. I pray that you will live a gospel centered life of “high love” and “high expectations.” I know the greatest joy in life comes through obedience to our covenants.

Thank you for your discipleship as missionaries in CASRM. It has been a high honor of my life to serve with you.
