Ye Shall Have Joy with Me
“Ye Shall Have Joy with Me”
President Quinn’s Weekly Message
California Santa Rosa Mission
June 15th, 2026
Sister Quinn and I have enjoyed the last two weeks of zone conferences and interviews. Once again, our travels across the mission have taken us through the beautiful redwood forests and vineyards that are found across CASRM. We are grateful for the opportunity of serving in such a beautiful mission – and with such exceptional missionaries. Our travels the last three years have been joyful as we enjoy the beauties of our mission and meet with you, our dear missionaries, who we love and find at each destination.
As we drove through the vineyards of Ukiah and Napa, I was reminded of the allegory of the vineyard contained in Jacob 5. This chapter in the Book of Mormon shares a prophecy of our latter-day missionary work written by the prophet Zenos nearly 3000 years ago. Please see yourself and your service in these scriptures:
“And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard sent his servant; and the servant went and did as the Lord had commanded him, and brought other servants; and they were few.
“And the Lord of the vineyard said unto them: Go to, and labor in the vineyard, with your might. For behold, this is the last time that I shall nourish my vineyard; for the end is nigh at hand, and the season speedily cometh; and if ye labor with your might with me ye shall have joy in the fruit which I shall lay up unto myself against the time which will soon come.
“And it came to pass that the servants did go and labor with their mights; and the Lord of the vineyard labored also with them; and they did obey the commandments of the Lord of the vineyard in all things.” (Jacob 5:7-72)
I testify to the truthfulness of this prophecy given to us by Zenos. I see the hand of the Lord each day in our labors. It is His work. I know He labors in this work alongside us. He is not standing on the sidelines cheering us on – He stands next to us in the most important work being done on the earth today. I promise that as we labor “with your might” and “obey the commandments” the Lord of the vineyard will bless us. Please always remember you are His servants. He has called your to labor with Him in His vineyard.
Zenos finishes his allegory by sharing a promise of joy for us as who labor in the vineyard with the Lord:
“…And blessed art thou; for because ye have been diligent in laboring with me in my vineyard, and have kept my commandments, and have brought unto me again the natural fruit, that my vineyard is no more corrupted, and the bad is cast away, behold ye shall have joy with me because of the fruit of my vineyard.” Jacob 5:75
What a beautiful promise! I testify that there is joy in our missionary work as servants of the Lord of the vineyard. I know there are difficult challenges and setbacks in missionary work. I promise you joy that will greatly compensate you for the hard days. Please spend time studying and reflecting on the instruction and promises given to us in Jacob’s allegory. Find hope and faith for your missionary work in this prophetic. Always remember it is the Savior who works beside you.
Sister Quinn and I are grateful for the privilege of serving with you. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
Love,
President Quinn
